Parish Church and Pastoral Programme
The city-centre Jesuit church is a tradition going back to St
Ignatius himself and Jesuit churches are to be found all over the
world. A Jesuit church is a place of apostolic activity and spiritual
peace; a place where the Gospel and the world encounter one
another in fruitful dialogue.
Farm Street is the central London church of the British Province of the Society of Jesus. It is also a parish church of the Archdiocese of Westminster. But it is a parish whose boundaries are virtually invisible and whose "parishioners" may only be "passing through".

A church of stunning beauty with a renowned choral tradition and a sense of quiet dignity, it is also a lively centre of family life and Christian fellowship. The liturgical Year is observed with great care and major celebrations (as well as the Sunday Sung Mass) are enhanced by outstanding music provided by professional singers.
Parish Team
There is a full programme of talks, special presentations, exhibitions and concerts as well as preached missions, novenas, pilgrimages and other devotions. These are announced in the weekly newsletter and on the church website www.farmstreet.org.uk Social highlights include the Winter Fair and the Summer Garden Party. Special festivities include the Feast of the Immaculate Conception (December 8th) and the Feast of St Ignatius Loyola (July 31st).
We keep a close relationship with Jesuit Schools and the Feast of St Ignatius is also our Alumni Day for graduates of Jesuit educational institutions from all over the world. There is an annual Musical Meditation with music from the Messiah on the First Sunday of Advent and a Mass for the Unborn on February 2nd. The Novena of Grace in Honour of St Francis Xavier takes place from March 4th to the 12th.
There are many opportunities for service within the parish community. There is a lively children’s programme and catechists are always needed. Volunteers are also welcome as Readers, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Altar Servers, Greeters and helpers on the coffee team.
