Parish Church and Pastoral Programme
The city-centre Jesuit church is a tradition going back to St Ignatius himself and Jesuit
churches are to be found all over the world. A Jesuit church is a place of apostolic activity
and spiritual peace; a place where the Gospel and the world encounter one another in fruitful dialogue.
Farm Street is the central London church of the British Province of the Society of Jesus It is also a parish church of the Archdiocese of Westminster. But it is a parish whose boundaries are truly global.
A church of stunning beauty with a renowned choral tradition and a sense of quiet dignity, it is also a lively centre of family life and Christian fellowship. The liturgical Year is observed with great care and major celebrations (as well as the Sunday Sung Mass) are enhanced by outstanding music provided by professional singers.

Farm Street is very active in charitable and social works at home and overseas. We support Jesuit Missions and the Jesuit Refugee Service. Our Helping Hand project includes support for Catholics in Pakistan, Iraq, and Kyrgyzstan. Twice a year we have an awareness Sunday for the work of CAFOD (Catholic Agency for Overseas Development).
Closer to home, is Mission to Mayfair, our pastoral and formation outreach to the business and financial services in the area with regular talks and seminars.
We are also involved with Churches Together in Westminster, our interdenominational organisation and Faith Exchange, the interfaith consultative body for Westminster Council.
The Parish Council is very active and involved in church life, especially in the promotion of lay engagement. The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP) meets every Monday night at 8pm to distribute food and supplies among the street homeless, and to make house visits. It is very active in advocacy work on behalf of vulnerable members of our society.
There are three lively national groups who meet regularly for prayer or Mass in Japanese, Portuguese and Tagalog Filipino.
There is a Parish Directory with complete information about all our groups and activities including the above and many more. These are available in the church and we are happy to mail copies on request.
