We continue to develop as a place to enable people to live a more informed active Christian life. While we recognise that such formation is often offered in a parish context, we also wish to reach out to those who, for whatever reason, feel themselves on the margins of local church life.
Programme for 2010-2011
In response to feedback from many of the participants from previous
courses, there is a greater emphasis on Scripture courses in the new
programme.
The inclusion of day-time courses proved a popular innovation for
those who found it difficult to attend evening sessions. This will
continue in the new programme and, whenever possible, there will be
a choice of attending a course either during the day or in the evening.
Again, whenever possible, there will be optional extra sessions for
those who want to explore further any issues that arise in the course of
the presentations.
In many of the Scripture courses, in addition to the literary, historical
and theological dimensions of the texts, participants will also be
introduced to Ignatian imaginative contemplation – an approach to
prayer suggested by St. Ignatius Loyola in his Spiritual Exercises.
