The Scripture and Theology courses are designed for those seeking to learn more about the foundations of their faith to assist them in their Christian life and mission, and may be of particular interest to those involved in ministry in parish and other settings. Everyone is welcome!
Programme for 2011-2012
In response to feedback from many of the participants from previous courses, there is a continued emphasis on Scripture courses in the new programme.
Wherever possible we have tried to include both day-time and evening sessions to allow greater flexibility for those who wish to attend courses.
The trial optional extra sessions for participants to ask further questions, explore issues raised in the course and to share their experience of the course, proved a popular addition to the programme. We will continue to offer this option in the new programme.
In many of the Scripture courses, in addition to the literary, historical
and theological dimensions of the texts, participants will also be
introduced to Ignatian imaginative contemplation – an approach to
prayer suggested by St. Ignatius Loyola in his Spiritual Exercises. Many of the sessions include suggestions for reflection, prayer and action. Participants are invited to refelct not only on the information they receive, but on how it could impact on the way they live.
If you wish to come along to any of the courses or talks, it is important that you book in advance. To do so, please contact Brian Purfield on 020 7495 1673 or email brian@mountstreet.info
We look forward to seeing you!
