Catholic Social Doctrine in the Thought of John Paul II and Benedict XVI
Dominic Robinson SJ
These two talks will explore the development of the Church’s social doctrine since Vatican II. In the first talk we will focus on the Blessed John Paul II’s teaching on human dignity as the keynote and theological underpinning of the Church’s social concern. In the second we will turn to Benedict XVI’s Encyclical Caritas in Veritate and the Bishops Conference of England and Wales’ 2010 document Choosing the Common Good.
