SIX WEEK COURSE - Thursdays, 29 January – 12 March 2009, 7-8.30pm
(not half term 17 Feb)
LITURGY
Frances Novillo
Liturgy is the shape of communal worship. It is at its best when everyone involved understands their role and plays their part: clergy, lay ministers and congregation. It gathers God’s people together, informs and inspires prayer, and strengthens and resources participants for their mission to be Christ to the world. This course will develop your understanding of liturgy, how it is crafted and shaped, and your role within it. There will be a strong practical element in the course, helping you acquire skills to prepare and participate fully in liturgies, use liturgical books and tools, set up worship space, and encourage the involvement of others. There will be scope for you to review and reflect on your own ideas experience of liturgy throughout the course.
