The First Sunday Plus Programme offers opportunities for young adults, people in their 20s and 30s who are single or married, to grow in faith, prayer and knowledge of Christ. Ignatian spirituality inspires all First Sunday PLUS activities, which include the First and Third Sunday masses, held in Farm Street church, pilgrimages, faith-sharing groups, and individual spiritual direction..

Programme

The First Sunday Eucharist, 7.15pm for 7.30pm start: held on the first Sunday of each month, is a festive liturgy prepared by and organised for young adults, including members of the First Sunday PLUS music ministry, ministry of the word, and welcome ministry. The music ministry is made up of singers and musicians who perform on a variety of instruments. New members of all ministries are always welcome.

The Third Sunday Eucharist 7.15pm for 7.30pm start is a smaller, more reflective, scripture-based encounter with God. One of its main features is a twenty minute, silent, private meditation following the solemn proclamation of the Gospel.

In 2010/11, additional First Sunday PLUS activities include:

• A reading group focusing on spiritual literature and personal reflection
• Meetings and services to mark Advent and Lent
• The Walk the Cross Good Friday Seven Churches Pilgrimage in London
• Day retreats for those wishing to deepen their faith and understanding of Ignatian spirituality

All First Sunday PLUS activities give young adults the chance to meet and share their faith with other young adults who live and work in the London area.
